A great old Moroccan Berber rug from the Beni Mguild tribes of the Central Middle Atlas Mountains. The luxurious high pile hides the intricately detailed design - see the reverse side in the last image. The sudden shifts in color, known as "abrash" in the trade, creates a highly dramatic effect to this beautiful rug.
